Salmon Evolution Goes Live in Under Two Months with CAI Maritech

Challenge

Salmon Evolution is a land-based salmon producer built from scratch, and it needed commercial systems running before its first harvest — not after. Sales, tracking and export processes all had to be in place on a fixed biological deadline.

The company also depends on an external packing plant it does not own, which left a blind spot at a critical point in the value chain: order status and export documentation depended on information the team could not see directly. And as a self-described data-driven business, Salmon Evolution wanted a foundation that would support tracking, mass balance and certification requirements such as Global Gap and ASC from the outset, rather than something bolted on later.

Solution

Salmon Evolution adopted CAI Maritech Purchase & Sales in the autumn of 2022, covering all processes related to sales, tracking and export of salmon. As a newly established company, it had no legacy data to migrate — allowing a clean implementation and a foundation built for growth.

The company then played a central role in developing CAI Maritech Packing Monitor, which gives it real-time data and reporting from the external packing plant it works with. Export documents can be produced as soon as the factory terminal gives clearance. Salmon Evolution is now also implementing specialised reports in CAI Maritech Analytics to strengthen decision-making around production.
