Challenge
The Kingfish Company is a pioneer in sustainable land-based aquaculture, producing high-quality Dutch Yellowtail at its site on the Oosterschelde marine nature reserve in the Netherlands. As the business scaled toward a second facility in Jonesport, Maine, it needed systems that could keep pace with rapid growth.
The requirements were specific: a platform that could operate in an international environment, was purpose-built for seafood processing, and could scale without heavy customization. Kingfish also worked with multiple equipment suppliers — cooling, HVAC, grading and more — across its new processing plant, and needed all of them integrated into a single platform rather than a patchwork of disconnected systems and manual handoffs.
Solution
Kingfish partnered with Maritech Suite, deployingMaritech Purchase & Sales, Packing, EasyGrade and EasyPack beginning in 2022. In 2024, the company launched its own processing facility powered by Maritech Linsight (MES), a major project that integrated all factory equipment with Purchase & Sales and Packing.
A structured, sprint-based project management approach was central to success. Both parties committed to a clear specification and to investing time in the implementation, and Maritech coordinated directly with Kingfish's other equipment suppliers to bring every system onto one platform.
