Group of people on construction site of warehouse

Challenge

Mathias Bjørge, a family-owned seafood company in Ålesund with roots reaching back to 1962, set out to build a new salmon processing plant designed around data rather than retrofitted for it.

A facility on that scale depends on equipment from many suppliers — automated fish distribution, sorting, packing — and the company needed those systems to behave as one rather than as a set of islands. That meant a single technology partner capable of connecting the whole value chain, from raw material purchasing through to customer delivery, and of moving the operation to the cloud in the process.

Solution

Mathias Bjørge selected CAI Maritech as primary technology provider for the new plant, implementing CAI Maritech Suite together with CAI Maritech Purchase & Sales, CAI Maritech Linsight and CAI Maritech Packing across the facility.

The platform acts as the coordinating layer for the factory, orchestrating operations and handling communication between systems and equipment suppliers. It integrates with best-in-class equipment for automated fish distribution and sorting, driven by real-time data and advanced analytics, so that purchasing, production and delivery all draw on the same information.

Results

  • Improved raw material utilization
  • Increased yield and precision
  • Intelligent, sustainable operations
  • Stronger margins and competitive position
  • A single integrated system spanning raw material purchasing through to customer delivery
  • Real-time data and analytics driving automated fish distribution and sorting

The Impact

We have had a long-standing and strong partnership with Maritech. Their ability to collaborate, think creatively, and develop tailored solutions was key in our decision to transition to the cloud and implement Linsight in our new facility.
