12/05/2008"CAI Integrates MyFax® Internet Fax Solution With Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software Products"
December 5, 2008 — Computer Associates (CAI) today announced that it has added the award-winning MyFax Internet fax solution. The MyFax service lets you send and receive faxes through your e-mail. MyFax is also fully integrated with Microsoft® Office 2003 and 2007 which provides greater flexibility and improved productivity by allowing users to fax directly from Microsoft Word, Excel® and PowerPoint® applications.
Jim McCooey, president of CAI said, “We are pleased to be able to provide our clients with this very affordable and state-of-the-art Internet fax solution. MyFax can significantly reduce communications costs because it is inexpensive and it doesn’t tie up any phone lines since you send and receive faxes through your Internet connection. It also helps you save energy, paper, and toner since all documents are electronic.”
Fax machines are huge energy wasters, in fact the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency named the fax machine as the biggest energy hog in the office. Over five years, a standard fax machine in the $150 range will cost you about $5,400 if you add in the cost of toner, paper, and a second phone line. Add to that any long-distance charges or any maintenance if the machine breaks down.
By comparison, MyFax offers a very inexpensive, scalable subscription service with a number of different models that can be configured to fit any size company. The cost of MYFAX.com’s services is based on the number of documents sent and received and can be as little as $10 per month. In addition, there are no long distance charges, you receive free 24/7 support and you can cancel the MyFax service at any time.
Using MyFax to send a fax is as easy and convenient as sending an e-mail. Just open your e-mail program and create a new e-mail message. In the "To" field, simply enter the destination fax number, followed by the @myfax.com extension. In the "Subject" field, enter the information that you would like to appear in the fax header. Next, within the body of the e-mail, provide any text you want to have faxed. The text will be converted to a fax image using a 12-point fixed width font.
You can also attach one or more files to your e-mail message to have faxed. Supported documents include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, WordPerfect, PDF, and HTML to name a few. Finally, just click "Send" and MyFax will convert your e-mail and attachments to a fax document, deliver it to your recipient(s) and e-mail you a detailed confirmation of your fax transmission.
MyFax® is the fastest growing Internet fax service used by individuals, small, medium and large businesses to send and receive faxes using existing e-mail accounts or the web. MyFax offers services in North America, Europe and the UK to industries recognized among the fastest growing adopters of Internet fax including finance, insurance, real estate, healthcare, transportation and government. More than 15,000 new customers subscribe to MyFax each month.
