"Computer Associates Announces Cloud-based Services; Expands IT Managed Services Practice"

March 22, 2012 — In an effort to meet the growing demand for cloud-based computing and affordable, fully managed information technology (IT) support services, Computer Associates (CAI) today announced a significant expansion of its IT services practice.

The company will showcase its latest IT offerings, including cloud migration, cyber security and remote desktop and server management services, at the Rhode Island Business Expo (RIBX), to be held on May 3 at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

“Businesses understand that the day-to-day costs associated with maintaining and supporting an on-premise server and IT infrastructure can very quickly spiral out of control,” said Jim McCooey, president of CAI. “They also know that computer network downtime or lost data can be catastrophic. Our cloud-migration services leverage the newest datacenter technology to help businesses run their operations efficiently, securely and at a lower cost in the cloud.”

In a cloud-based solution, office-based employees, telecommuting staff and remote sales reps simply access their apps and data on a web browser, while CAI’s technical services team centrally manages the solution in the cloud, including everyday operations, upgrades, monitoring and optimization.
